My body is calm and warm and relaxed,
In this room bathed in an orange glow,
And I listen to them merrily chatter below,
In the courtyards under the darkening sky,
And I know it’s fine to simply let go.
Mighty is this mind which would try to say ‘no’
Yet I know it’s game, I’ve studied it well.
Of its sabotage there are tales I can tell,
But tonight as I lay beneath these African stars,
I smile and nod for a future I cannot foretell.
